In this short pithy book Austin pares the artistic experience down to ten basic ideas or tenants. He encourages keeping an idea file, a notepad with you at all times, and a schedule.

The most helpful thing for me was his idea of keeping a schedule not only of what is ahead of you, but also what you did. Just to keep track of how you are actually spending your time, and to use it to inspire your art.

I have the tools in place for all these ideas. I just do not use them effectively and consistently. I will try a different approach in the future, trying to create a habit of using them every day.
