I tutored an ESL student this morning again. We are working through a workbook called English is Stupid! But Students Are Not! It has been more helpful than I thought it would be at first glance. Sometimes things surprise you. My student is loving it and learning from it. The book is based on teaching speaking through the use of the English Phonetic Alphabet. As my student already knows the International Phonetic Alphabet, and used to teach languages in her home country, this has been like child’s play so far for her. I would like to try it with people who know less phonetics and see how they find the material.
I finished the rugs on the backing! Everything is cut apart and ready for blocking.
This is the end of the star rugettes for now. I have hooked 21 of them and I think I need a bit of a break…for a week or so. I am looking forward to the rest of the Christmas backing and the rugs on it.
Next up? The three Wise Men in 6″ rugettes. Not sure how this is going to work with #6 cut, but we’ll see. It will have to be very simple. Finishing the other rugs and colour planning are my goals for tomorrow. 🙂
