I finished Prairie Sky – Storm 3 yesterday. I also started Prairie Sky – Overlapping Circles 4. That will be the end of the current Prairie Sky rugettes.
I mailed out a few batches of greeting cards yesterday. So those who have ordered should be receiving them soon.
I also spent time updating my bookkeeping.
Today hubby is home and I am preparing the rugs for finishing.
Next week will be spring rugettes and finishing of all rugettes for sale. 🙂
Jean, how do you finish the rugettes? I make little mug rugs, but I want to enlarge some to be put on the wall. Do you use a frame? And I love all these Prairie Skies – I lived in Kansas for a few years. 🙂
Hi Laura. I have a YouTube video on how I finish my rugs at Rug Finishing 1. After it’s finished I sew a 4.5″ hanging sleeve on the back and either buy a 5.5″ brass bellpull hanger to hang it from, or I buy doweling and cut it to 5.5″ length to slip through the sleeve. If I use doweling then all I have to do is put two push pins in the wall at either end of the dowel and I can hang from that. A bellpull hanger, while more expensive, is classier looking, and obviously hangs from a hook of some sort. Hope that helps! 🙂
Thanks, Jean. I’ll check out the video. Wanted to see if you did something different than me. Usually I use twill tape on my regular rugs, but with “mug rugs,” I don;t bother. I also sew up a sleeve on the back of my rugs for hanging. But then I get lucky. Hubby cuts the doweling and attaches fishing line to it for hanging.
