I have been absent for some time online.  My father passed away recently.  He was known for his bright and lively L.L. Bean shirts.  I was given (at my request) nineteen of them.  My goal is to make something for each descendant who wants something.  Right now that adds up to 23 people who want small items like cushion covers, tote bags, wall hangings, potholders, baby quilts, a table runner, and a pocketknife pouch.  Currently I am working on the cushion covers.  Eight people have requested these.  I finished four today and will do another four tomorrow.  I’ve set everything up to operate an assembly line for sewing and pressing.  I’ve had to borrow an ironing board.  I sold my big one in preparation for the move (which has been postponed), and cannot find the small one I packed…somewhere…

Aside from the sewing, I’ve been busy knitting.  I found Fleece Artist’s National Parks 150 yarn on sale at Unwind Wools in Okotoks, Alberta in mid-April and bought up as much as I thought I’d need, as it is being discontinued.  I have one taker for the hat I finished on the subsequent trip to Dad’s funeral.  The yarn is the Sable Island, N.S. colour way.  The pattern is out of an Ann Budd’s “The Knitter’s Handy Book of Patterns”.

Other than that, we’ve made two trips to Alberta since mid-April.  We’ve met many new people and visited with family and friends.  I thank all of them for their love and support at this difficult time.  While Dad was quite sick this past year, it was still with sadness that I heard the news he had died.  He lived a long and full life.  I am sad he is gone, but glad he is no longer suffering.  Peace be with all my readers.  Take care and have a great week! 🙂
