About me

Hi!  My name is Jean.  I have been immersed in fiber from the time I was a young child.  My interest was fostered by my mother and grandmother throughout my childhood and into my adult years. I spent time exploring the world of painting after I graduated from the University of Alberta, and was re-introduced to fiber by Lucille Roxburgh of Calgary, Alberta when she taught me traditional rug hooking in 1985.  Since then I have experimented with different techniques and fibers. I love color and I love texture, and I invite the viewer to explore that world of color and texture with me.

I have exhibited across Canada and in the USA.  In  2012 I became a juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council and started selling my work. I sold work through the Affinity Gallery in Saskatoon, and Traditions in Regina.  In 2019 I moved across country and left the Council behind.

Now, back in my home province of Nova Scotia, I am represented by Visual Voice Gallery in Truro, Nova Scotia.
