work-bin

My bin of things to be worked on…

Good morning everyone!  I am looking forward to this week in my studio.

  • I will be posting more ornaments on Etsy.
  • I have to put a phone call in to WordPress. Apparently I have two premium accounts they want me to pay for when I only use one.
  • I also want to work on my website and uploading more content for sale.
  • Plus there’s “Moss” to hook.
  • I have yet to finish the Certificates of Authenticity.  I was sidetracked last week.
  • I have some photos to take still.
  • I have some hang tags to print off and attach to hangings.
  • I have a few wall hangings and ornaments that need some ‘fixing’.
  • And I have a bit of packaging to do yet.

Having said all that, I also have a busy social week coming up.  Looks like a busy week ahead.  I better get a move on!

knit-cellular-baby-blanket-1

Knit cellular baby blanket with lots of mistakes in it.  In my defense I have to say the kinky yarn was not a good choice.  As was my decision to knit it while visiting with friends.  The yarn was the most problematic though.  It was difficult to see mistakes until quite a ways after they happened.  I figure it will be good enough for charity.  I won’t be knitting that pattern again.  Plus I think I’ll stick to straight knit and purl when I’m busy visiting.

Hi everyone!  I am getting a lot done this week.  No hooking on “Moss” yet, but the week isn’t over. 🙂

I did manage to finish knitting the cellular baby blanket.  I’ll be blocking it soon I hope, and then donating it to charity.

I’ve been working on matching Certificates of Authenticity with all my finished hooked pieces larger than 6″ x 6″ that are original work.

I’ve been writing draft posts for my Etsy shop.  Keep an eye out for more items for sale on Monday.

And I’ve been working on my website.

I’ll be taking tomorrow, Friday, off to help some friends and to remember those who have fought and died in war for Canada.  I will be back on Monday.

This week things are chugging along.  I spent part of the weekend creating draft posts on Etsy for Christmas ornaments.  They will be up for sale this week.  Shipping in Canada is free.  Shipping to the US is $5 CAD.

I am finishing a few wall hangings and packaging some as well.  Some will need certificates of authenticity, and some will not.  I include certificates for original work 6″ x 6″ and larger.  Each certificate includes:

  • the name and size of the piece,
  • the materials it is made from,
  • the number it is on my inventory list,
  • the date it was completed,
  • my signature, and the date I signed it.
  • cleaning instructions and
  • my contact information.

I do hope to figure out what to do with “Moss” this week.  I may have to do some dyeing yet.

Also I hope to get in and pick up my sunroom studio a bit.  It looks like a tornado hit!

I’m putting the creation of more fiber bundles to sell on hold for now.  My priority needs to be putting things up on Etsy for Christmas, and then the new website, and lastly making more fiber bundles for sale.

Knit Cellular Baby Blanket – almost finished!

I am almost finished the knit baby blanket!  Only a few more rows to go!  I want to try a new cast off method.  I’ll be checking in with my friend about that.

As for “Moss”…I am decidedly unhappy with it and haven’t worked on it all week.

Instead I’ve been preparing wall hangings for sale on Etsy and working on my new website.

I did not get to the Certificates of Authenticity yesterday.  So I will be working on those today.  I did manage to get about 150 cup hooks into little plastic bags (2 each) and into the wall hanging packages.

I have spent a lot of time planning our trip and studying Korean.

Inspiration Wednesday

I haven’t been out taking photos as much as usual.  I’ve been busy adding cup hooks to my wall hanging packages for my patrons/customers/clientele.

This afternoon I’ll be printing off the Certificates of Authenticity and working on filling them out.

Here’s a few photos of tree trunks and trees to inspire you… 🙂

This weekend I was busy with my Etsy shop.  I uploaded more items for sale.

I was also busy on my new website.  Still trying to figure out the shipping issues with WooCommerce.  Seems they aren’t as cheap as they claim to be.  I’ll be looking at other options this week.

Upcoming this week…

~ I plan to hook more on “Moss”.
~ I need to add cup hooks to the packages of wall hangings I am selling.
~ I need to sew a hanging sleeve on one of the wall hangings.
~ I need to take some photos of others before posting them on Etsy.
~ I need to fill out Certificates of Authenticity for most of the wall hangings.
~ And I need to photograph and load more fiber bundles for sale.

I doubt I’ll finish all this in one week, but I’ll make a stab at it.  The Certificates of Authenticity will take some time to fill out.  They are quite detailed and I have quite a number to do.

Well I hope everyone is off to a great start of a new week!  Enjoy the nice fall weather and try not to eat too much candy then next couple of days.

Cheers,
Jean

Weekly Review

BEG-on-wall

It’s been a busy week.  I finished the hanging systems for Sprouts and Blue-eyed Grass.  Hubby hung them on the wall for me.  They are now up for sale folks!

Sprouts is 6″ x 36″ and $225 CAD + shipping.  Blue-eyed Grass is 7″ x 36″ and $260 CAD + shipping.  Shipping via UPS runs about $75 CAD.  All pieces are insured for shipping.  Both pieces come with a Certificate of Authenticity as well.  Also, the hanging system (dowel) is included.

I had a delightful lady in Wednesday afternoon for a finishing class.  She is doing a wonderful job with her rug hooking and I hope to see her again soon.

I managed to package up Prairie Sky, the large version, and ship it off to its new owner.  Hopefully it will arrive safely.

I’ve been updating my business books as well.

AND, last, but not least, I actually cleaned up my studio!  I sorted out a mess of worms (small leftover strips of fibre).  I am feeling the need to do a scrappy wall hanging.  Hmm…will have to think about it.

Tackle it Tuesday

Busy day with appointments and company and Hubby off work.  Probably no rug hooking related activities.  Will catch up with everyone later.  🙂

Later…

I did do some rug hooking related work this afternoon.  Finished putting labels on the last of the wall hangings, inserting the rod hangers, and printing and attaching hang tags.  Packed everything up in my bin and it fit!  Just barely.

I also printed off more Certificates of Authenticity for the larger wall hangings. Plus I put together my sales kit for the road.  And, because I have time to kill before company has to be picked up at the airport, I think I will edit a few wall hanging photos. 🙂
